The Wine Advocate:

The 2016 Molinillo is named after the place where the grapes are grown in the province of Salamanca, a village they consider to be very different from the rest of the Sierra de Salamanca appellation. It was produced with grapes from two old vineyards planted at 700 meters in altitude on Corneana soils, a metamorphic rock made with quartz, feldspar and mica. The destemmed grapes fermented in plastic bins with indigenous yeasts, and the wine aged in used 300-liter French oak barrels for 20 months in contact with the fine lees. There is bright fruit in the foreground, more fruit than flowers, with some round tannins. It has good weight on the palate, with juicy fruit and great definition. Only 450 bottles were filled in June 2018.
