The 2017 Saint-Véran En Crèches offers up a lovely bouquet of yellow orchard fruit, fresh peach and white flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with racy acids, good tension at the core and a long, penetrating finish. My comparatively brief drinking window reflects the wine's composite closure, not its structure or inherent potential.
This single-vineyard wine is concentrated, with layers of tropical fruits, texture and acidity. These come together in a rich wine full of balanced fruit and intense freshness. The wine should age further, so drink from 2021.
