L'avis des experts
The 2016 Pommard 1er Cru les Pezerolles has a divine bouquet with perfumed black cherry and raspberry fruit tinged with violet, quite Volnay-like in style and very seductive. The palate is well balanced with fine tannin, fine body, nicely weighted in the mouth if, unlike the Epenots, just missing a touch of complexity on the finish. That may well develop with bottle age so cellar this for two or three years. Three barrels produced. - Neal Martin.
The Pèzerolles, with its signature aromas of spice, is always one of the most distinctive wines in the Voillot cellar, and in 2016 those telltale scents mingle with notions of blood orange and red berries. The wine is quite full-bodied, with a good core of crunchy fruit and a fine chassis of chalky, savoury tannin.
