Tara Red Wine 1 Pinot Noir 2016

There is better definition in the 2016 Red Wine 1 Pinot Noir, which feels aromatic, subtle, harmonious and elegant. It's aromatic and insinuating. Like the Red Wine 2 from Syrah, I also find better varietal definition, with unnoticeable oak and very good freshness. It's very textured and velvety, with ultra elegant tannins. They used 30% stems for the fermentation, which certainly helps during fermentation and possibly adds to the texture. As the plants become better balanced and some of the newer vines produce grapes, they can grow in volume. In 2016 they produced 3,400 bottles of this. It was bottled in February 2017.
