L'avis des experts

Tim Atkin:

Ramón Bilbao's Reserva is a stylish blend of Tempranillo with 10% Graciano and Mazuelo from eight different Rioja Alta villages. The wood influence has been dialled back in 2015 and is now all second and third use American oak, complementing the still youthful spicy red berry and bramble fruit flavours. 2021-27

Decanter:

Aged for 20 months in American oak barriques, this Rioja has fine, structured tannins that support a balanced and rounded palate. Black fruit is layered with spice, leather and coffee on the palate; preceded by harmonious aromas of black and red berries with vanilla and sweet coconut oak. With good freshness, this is drinking well now, but will certainly evolve further in bottle. Drinking Window 2021 - 2031
