L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

"Somehow different to the other wines from the winery, the blend of Petit Verdot, Tempranillo and Merlot, is a single-vineyard red called 2011 Pago El Espino, which fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured for 15 months in barrels (they replace some 20% of the barrels each vintage). The nose is a combination of mint and oak-related aromas with notes of tomato vine, esparto grass and dry hay, a bit Porty and oily, with a riper and more Mediterranean profile. The medium to full-bodied palate shows minty flavors and plenty of influence from the oak, with some harsh tannins that need to calm down in bottle, pungent flavors and a warm finish. Unusual. 28,000 bottles".
