Mauro VS 2013

"I also tasted the 2013 VS, which was quite a challenging vintage, but this wine ended up being the real surprise of the tasting. They didn't produce Terreus in 2013, and most of the fruit from those vineyards ended up in the blend of this VS. It's a lighter and very fresh vintage, very elegant and transparent, a little more austere perhaps. It was one of those years when the work was really in the vineyard and if you got it right, it could produce superb wines, as is the case here. Playing with different vineyards, they can select depending on the character of the year, for example the soils with more clay don't work so well in cooler years, but behave better in warmer ones. All in all, it was a shorter crop and they produced less bottles than the average. Some 18,000 bottles were filled with this magnificent 2013."
