L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The 2021 Leirana Finca Genoveva shows more development of aromas with notes of hay and straw, hints of cereals, with complexity and elegance, keeping the freshness, moderate alcohol (12.5%) and a sharp, austere, salty and mineral finish. It matured in well-seasoned oak foudres for 12 months. 5,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in August 2022.

Tim Atkin:

Genovena comes from a single three-hectare parcel of rented vines in Valiñas, 80% of which is planted on its own roots and is more than 100 years' old. Fermented and aged in older foudres, this shows the intensity and crunch of the best 2021s, with mouth-watering acidity, lemon zest and grapefruit flavours, some mid-palate weight and a salty, layered finish. Wonderfully complex. 2023-30
