The Wine Advocate:

Calabrés is the name of the old strain of Garnacha from the Salamanca mountains from which they produce this 2017 Garnacha Calabrés, which reflects the ripeness of a warm and dry year. It was sourced from different vineyards on granite and slate soils, and it fermented with indigenous yeasts with malolactic in clay "tinaja" (amphora), followed by five months in used French oak barrels. There are almost sweet notes of spices and a Mediterranean touch and some blurry aromas and flavors that muddled the wine a bit. I look forward to a cooler year of this. 1,191 bottles were filled from four barriques in October 2018.
