La Cueva is the second wine of Contador, made with fruit from 12 parcels in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, and, true to a style that Benjamín Romeo pioneered and has made his own, shows plush, deeply coloured dark fruit with ripe, textured tannins, stylish use of oak and enough chalky minerality to keep the alcohol in check. 2022-28
