The Wine Advocate:

All three single-vineyard Monastrell bottlings have very similar parameters, showing the hand of a skilled winemaker. The 2018 Juan Piernas comes from a 1.6-hectare plot planted with an old Monastrell clone at 760 meters in altitude and with a north exposition. It's produced like the others, fermentation in stainless steel and élevage in 500-liter barrels for nine months. It's varietal and expressive, with notes of licorice and black fruit, and it has a soft texture and round tannins, pleasant and balanced. It's ready to drink now but also capable of aging for a few years in bottle. 1,500 bottles and 150 magnums were filled in August 2019.
