Etern 2018

Despite the generous 15% alcohol, the 2018 Etern doesn't feel as ripe as some previous vintages, and the oak also feels better integrated. But it's still a very ripe and oaky blend of 75% Cariñena and 25% Garnacha from two different vineyards in La Vilella Alta and the border of Falset and Porrera. It has the house style, which doesn't seem to make differences come through blending grapes and zones, and the wines show a similar profile with increasing oak. They are nicely crafted in their style, but I cannot get excited about them. It matured in new French barriques for 12 months.
