La cuvée Hugo est un clin d'oeil au prénom du fils de Jean-Roger et Marie Calvet. Un assemblage de Grenache noir et de Syrah issus de vieilles vignes situées sur la commune de Maury. Ce vin est vinifié de façon traditionnelle et élevé pendant 18 mois en demi-muids et foudres.

Mostly Syrah from a higher elevation vineyard, the 2017 Hugo offers a rocking bouquet of ripe dark fruits, olive, ground pepper, and earth. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, with ripe tannins and good acidity, it’s another terrific looking barrel sample from this estate.

James Suckling:

A rich, juicy red with blackberry and walnut aromas and flavors. Full body, creamy tannins and a flavorful finish. A little high in alcohol, but shows softness and tension at the end of the palate. Drink now.
