The red varietal Arco also felt riper and headier in the 2017 vintage. I tasted the 2017 Casalabor next to the other 2017s, and they all seemed marked by the conditions of the year, which delivered wines with more alcohol and power. But there was more balance and filigree here, with a fine, laced texture, very fine tannins and a floral and explosive nose with contained ripeness. 2016 was not produced, because hail destroyed the crop, so this is only the second vintage bottled after the initial 2015, both very Mediterranean years. 1,400 bottles were filled in December 2018.
