Decanter:

Sumptuous dark fruit overlaid with berries on the nose. Dense, dark fruits on the palate with a lively lift of acid. Firm, grippy tannins will soften in due course. Drinking window 2022-2027.

Tim Atkin:

El Nogal is located in cool Elvillar and will be a future Viñedo Singular. The wine from this 1.3-hectare parcel, planted back in 1960, is much darker and more concentrated than the 2016, reflecting the heat of the vintage. Vigorous, youthful and intense with firmish tannins, it needs more time in bottle to loosen up. 2023-29.
