A bit oakier and also impressively young and undeveloped, the 2012 Victoria Díez Caballero comes from a selection of bunches from the La Moraleja vineyard. It fermented in concrete vats followed by malolactic in barrique and an élevage of 15 months in French oak. The palate has pungent oak-related flavors and feels like it might need a little more time in bottle, which makes me hesitate a bit. 10,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in October 2014.
