The Wine Advocate:

"The 2015 Tinita Viñas de Verdejo was sourced from vines on sandy soils yielding 6,000 kilos of grapes per hectare, quite low for the Rueda zone. It's varietal, vertical and fresh, with some creaminess, from a vineyard planted in 1994 at 780 meters altitude. One fourth of the volume fermented in used oak barrels with bâttonage and the rest in stainless steel, and kept in those vessels for four months before bottling. This time I noticed the oak more than in other vintages, as they also want to get away from the typical fresh and fruity Ruedas. In fact, the wine is released later, because it's always bottled later, as it needs more time to develop and get beyond the simple profile of most of the wines from the appellation. It has developed more yellow fruit and quince aromas, and is getting more serious by the year, getting more of a different personality; it most likely it will not be sold with the Rueda appellation in future vintages. This represents very good value for the price asked. 50,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2016."
