L'avis des experts

Tim Atkin:

Marcos Eguren makes this pure Tempranillo from four hectares of old vines planted in the Jararte and Los Terreros parcels in San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Using 50% whole bunch fermentation for extra lift, it's a smooth, concentrated, sumptuously oaked red with mocha and dark berry flavours and supporting acidity. 2024-35

James Suckling:

Intense aromas of graphite, lead pencil, purple fruit and lavender. Medium-bodied with very linear and fine tannins that are long and lightly austere on the finish. This will age nicely. 100% tempranillo. Drink after 2023.

The Wine Advocate:

The 2019 Colección Privada showcases the style of the year, ripe, powerful, clean and with good freshness. This wine is always a blend of two vinifications from two vineyards, one traditional and the other one carbonic maceration, and the wine matured in brand-new oak barrels, half French oak and half American oak. It has contained alcohol, 13.8%, and a combination of wild berries and flowers with generous spicy oak, a medium-bodied palate with very fine tannins and nice balance. 25,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2021.
