L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The seldom-produced 2011 Señorío de P Peciña Gran Reserva shows how traditional Rioja is more sensitive to the character of the vintage and in a way more transparent, if you want. The fruit feels quite ripe, a little candied, and the oak is quite obvious, while the palate is lacking in the middle and quite marked by the élevage. This spent four years in used American oak barrels. 11,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2017. - Luis Gutiérrez.

Decanter:

Packed with cigar smoke, morel mushrooms, dried herbs, dried cherry and fig fruit character. Sinuous and refreshing, with cumin spice on the long, long finish. Appealing wine. - Cata a ciegas de Sarah Jane Evans MW, Christine Parkinson y Beth Willard.

Tim Atkin:

Higher in alcohol than the Peciña wines usually are, largely because of the heat of the 2011 vintage, this appealingly mature Gran Reserva is a blend of Tempranillo with 5% Garnacha and Graciano, sourced from the Finca Iscorta. Savoury and complex, with notes of autumn leaves, wild mushrooms and sweet berry fruit and the acidity to age. 2021-28.
