The Wine Advocate:

The outstanding 2013 Selección Mónica Martínez Blanco is pure Viura aged in barrel for three years. It has parameters to age for a very long time, a pH of 3.05, 7.1 grams of acidity and 13% alcohol. It was produced like the wines from before, from a challenging vintage that has produced some unexpectedly good whites with plenty of freshness. After a cold soak, the juice started fermenting in stainless steel and was soon transferred to used 300-liter French oak barrels, where it completed fermentation and was kept for 36 months. It feels much more harmonious than the 2012, with contained ripeness, focused and delineated aromas and a vibrant palate combining power and elegance. This is a traditional white Rioja with a twist, a white full of character and with the ingredients for a long life in bottle. Truly impressive. 2,500 bottles were filled in February 2017. It will be released in 2018.
