L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

I've always had a soft spot for the first wine Rosillo started producing, and the eponymous 2019 Sedella is not an exception. It comes from old vines planted with a field blend (that he reproduced in the new plantings) of Romé, Garnacha, Jaén, Montua and Moscatel Romano, one hectare planted in 1940 on laminated slate soils on a north-facing plot. All the varieties were picked and fermented together in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured in barrel for 14 months. It has a Mediterranean nose of aromatic herbs, wild berries and flowers and no trace of oak. It has character, medium ripeness and body at 13.5% alcohol and a chalky texture, with grainy tannins. Rustic elegance. 2,400 bottles were filled in August 2021.
