Scala dei Prior 2015

"The red cuvée 2015 Prior is a blend of Garnacha with 15% each Cariñena and Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah from different vineyards on slate, clay and limestone soils. The grapes from higher altitudes on clay and limestone soils are fermented with full clusters in concrete vats, and the ones from slate were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel, always with indigenous yeasts. It matured in a mixture of 225- and 500-liter oak barrels, foudres and concrete vats for one year. It's very fruit-driven and with a grapey profile—ripe and with a round, juicy palate. The tannins are fine and almost imperceptible. 54,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2017."
