L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

"The 2016 Branco Superior, the oaked white, is a blend of 60% Viosinho and 40% Verdelho, aged for six months in an equal mixture of new and used French oak. This was a tank sample when seen (but out of barrel, the final blend and due to be bottled a few days after tasting). A bit oaky just now, this should easily pull it in as it has good concentration and even better acidity. Elegant, focused and impeccably balanced, this lingers nicely and should age well. Winemaker Manuel Lobo thought its fine acidity (7.25 grams total acidity, all natural) would help it hold well. I am not yet sure it is as good overall as the wonderful 2015, but it isn't far off and it handles itself nicely. It should be better in a year. There were 41,200 bottles produced from 19-year-old vines."
