The Wine Advocate:

For once I caught this wine after it was bottled. The 2020 Plácet Valtomelloso was produced with Viura from 35-year-old organically farmed vines in Valtomelloso on a soft slope of the Monte Yerga in Alfaro at 550 meters above sea level. It fermented with indigenous yeasts in oval oak vats, where it matured for nine months. It has moderate alcohol and very good acidity in a more Atlantic vintage in a Mediterranean place. The wine is fresh and vibrant, elegant and balanced, tasty with a combination of white fruit, flowers and herbs. The reds from the year have a lot of concentration, and the white was picked early, which helped keep the acidity. The oaking in 2,000-liter foudres is very soft, and the wine does not show marked by wood. It was bottled in May 2021, and 16,500 bottles and 25 magnums were produced. - Luis Gutiérrez.

Tim Atkin:

A wine that doesn't always get the credit it deserves, Plácet is a stylish, well-judged Viura from a vineyard at 440 metres on the Monte Yerga that's blended with 2% Pavés. There's no sign of the heat of the vintage here on a white that moves from aromas of vanilla spice and wild herbs to a palate of pear, citrus and juniper. 2023-28

James Suckling:

Pear, pineapple, lemon, hawthorn, flint and cedar on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with bright acidity. Ripe, flavorful and spicy. Smoky and vibrant finish. Drink now or hold.
