The Wine Advocate:

The 2008 Vinedos Viejos, (vinedos viejos is Spanish for old vineyards) produced from 60- to 75-year-old Mencia vines grown on clay-rich slopes with some slate content, is aged for 12 months in a combination of French, Russian and American barrels and a further 12 months in bottle. It has some incense, strong balsamic notes and blueberry aromas. The palate shows some dusty tannins as well as good blueberry flavors and correct acidity, though it seems like the wood has dried out some of the fruit. Drink 2014-2016.
