There is also a red 2018 Mas de Mancuso Cariñena, produced with grapes from a 40-year-old plot on very stony soils, as they wanted to experiment with the grape in a superb vintage like 2018. If had a natural fermentation followed by a short maceration and was kept in a Flextank (plastic) egg for 14 months. This is extremely creamy and balsamic with a touch of rusticity and mint (almost eucalyptus), mixing earthy notes and a touch of tree bark with tons of balsamic and medicinal aromas, also perfumed and floral. It has the grainy tannins from the variety and a dusty, earthy and slightly rustic touch. It needs powerful food. 1,400 bottles were filled in February 2020.
