Description

Decanter:

The sweet oak toast, caramel and vanillin add a touch of class to ripe nose, cedary notes behind. Dense tannic palate has nice chewy fruit - top class.

The Wine Advocate:

It seems like the 150th anniversary of the winery has now turned into a brand produced as a Gran Reserva in the best years, as is the case with the 2010 150 Aniversario Gran Reserva. The blend here is Tempranillo with 10% Graciano, matured in French oak barrels for 30 months. There is great harmony here, subtleness and complexity, a completely different style, a great combination of tertiary and spicy flavors with red fruit. It becomes perfumed mixing flowers with balsamic notes of incense, quite penetrating. The palate is very polished with fine, but abundant tannins and very good overall balance. This is the Gran Reserva produced in 2010. They didn't bottle a Gran Reserva in 2007, 2008 or 2009, so this is the follow-up of the 2005 and 2006. This label has only been used in 2001 and 2004 before. It seems to evolve quite quickly in the glass, which makes me hesitate a bit. 35,000 bottles produced. - Luis Gutiérrez.

James Suckling:

Nothing showy about this in the nose, although the discreet black fruit and chocolate notes are appealing. Excellent ripeness and concentration. Very polished and refined. Drink now.
