L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

"As it often happens with the more affordable wines, the 2013 vintage was sold out while the 2014 LZ was still in cement vat waiting to be bottled in April 2015. A blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano from their own vineyards and grapes purchased from growers, all of them in the village of Lanciego, but coming exclusively from head-pruned vines (Telmo has a special dislike for trellises in Rioja), it was fermented in cement vats with indigenous yeasts and matured for 4-6 months before bottling. It is reminiscent of cherries with a leafy note, really young and tender, with hints of red licorice and a juicy palate, sweet fruit and silky tannins. The wine is approachable and easy to drink".
