Las Bacantes Garnacha 2015

"The 2015 Las Bacantes is pure Garnacha from an old, head-pruned and dry-farmed vineyard where they also grow figs and quinces surrounded by pine trees and Mediterranean sous bois. It fermented in open vats with indigenous yeasts, with foot-treading, and aged in used French and Austrian 350- and 500-liter oak barrels. This was one of the pleasant surprises, a new name that shows perfumed Garnacha character, great balance and freshness and granite texture with fine tannins that cling to your teeth. It follows the Comando G and 4 Monos path of finesse and elegance while maintaining the character of place, grape and vintage. In fact, it showed pretty well for a 2015, a vintage that was warm. Bravo! 1,300 bottles were filled in September 2016."
