Made in commendably large quantities of 600,000 bottles, this is a cuvée of Tempranillo and 6% Mazuelo from vineyards in the Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Alta sub-regions that are older than 25 years of age. Spicy and perfumed, with notes of Mediterranean herbs, deep colour, serious oak and a chalky finish. Impressive stuff. 2022-27

James Suckling:

A rather traditional reserva with berry, vanilla and cedar aromas and flavors. Medium body with refined tannins and a delicious finish. Drink or hold.
