L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

"As the 2013 is sold out (but surely still available in shops), I had a preview of the 2014 Rioja Tinto Vendimia that is ready to be bottled. As usual it is a blend of Tempranillo from Rioja Alta and Garnacha from Alfaro. Following an old tradition, this wine always contains around 8% of wine from the previous harvest that stays in barriques for one year. The rules of the appellations allow up to 15% of wine from other vintages, so this is completely legal, and it's something that was always done. There is crunchy fruit here that can be enjoyed now in its primary, exuberant phase but that can also be uncorked three, four years after the vintage. The 2014 is in a way similar to 2013, and produced lighter wines. 350,000 bottles produced".
