L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

"The substantial 2014 La Calma is one of only a handful of wines produced with the Chenin Blanc grape in Spain. It's made with the fruit from one organically farmed vineyard, Vinya La Calma. The vineyard is located within their estate in the Masís del Garraf zone of Penedès and was planted in 1982 on limestone-rich soils with many sea fossils. The wine is produced in a very simple way and is fermented with indigenous yeasts in 450-liter French oak barrels where it's kept for a short period of four months. It has varietal aromas with great purity and definition—beeswax and honey, white peach, dried herbs and something floral. The palate is round and complex, with weight and lightness at the same time. There is great balance, focused flavors and very good freshness. It's only 12.5% alcohol. This is one of the great table whites from Spain, all about finesse and delicacy in one of its finest vintages so far. 2,501 bottles and 37 magnums produced. It was bottled in March 2015".
