L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

The regular 2017 Jarrarte—produced with Tempranillo and matured in used oak barrels for 12 months—should not be confused with the younger and unoaked Maceración Carbónica. 2017 was super challenging and early, and the wine shows some development, seeming a little more oxidative than normal. The palate is a little dusty with some tannins that would welcome food. It's ripe and has mellow acidity. A Jarrarte for the short-term consumption. 10,786 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2018. - Luis Gutiérrez.

Tim Atkin:

Growers like Abel Mendoza come into their own in difficult years like 2017, which was affected by frost and one of the shortest growing seasons ever. Made with Tempranillo grapes from several Sonsierra villages, this is fresh, dense and mineral, showing none of the heat or over-concentration of the vintage. Dense, layered and spicy. 2022-27
