Horizonte de Exopto Blanco 2013

"Cropped from an Atlantic, cold vintage harvested three weeks later than usual, the 2013 Horizonte de Exopto (white) has an amazing nose of aniseed, herbal tea, mint and white and yellow flowers. The fruit is clean, precise and lightly medicinal. The grapes are sourced from individual plants mixed in the old vineyards with the red varieties. The blend is mostly Viura with perhaps some 10% Garnacha Blanca and 5% Malvasía Riojana–all of them fermented together with indigenous yeasts, starting in stainless steel and finishing in barriques. The wine matured in contact with the lees for one year before bottling. The palate is straight, precise and well-delineated with a mineral, salty finish. This is a white of character that should grow with time. Very good value for the quality it delivers. 3,000 bottles".
