Gouveio by Joaninha 2019

The 2019 Gouveio (by Joaninha) is unoaked, very dry and comes in at 13% alcohol. This is sourced from 15-year-old vines at 700 meters in Baixo Corgo. Just gorgeous, this is full of zing and zest, hints of lime and personality. It's fresh and lively, with some grip on the finish. It is also tons of fun with waves of flavor. I'm not convinced yet how this will age, and it probably needs to do so to justify my current enthusiasm, but it is irresistible now. At least on a personal level, this was certainly one of my favorites. There were 2,000 bottles produced. - Mark Squires.
