Garnacha de Arrayán 2014
Fiche technique
L'avis des experts
"The one Garnacha that is not sourced from the province of Toledo, and therefore is not a wine from Méntrida, is the 2014 Garnacha de Arrayán. This is produced with grapes from an old plot in the zone know as Los Galayos in the village of Cebreros in the province of Ávila and, therefore, is a Vino de la Tierra Castilla León. But, political appellations don't really matter, and this is a Gredos Garnacha from a slope with a 32% incline with slate soils at 960 meters altitude. It was hand-harvested and fermented with 40% full clusters in a 4,200-liter French oak vat, where the wine matured after fermentation and racking for some 16 months. There is ripeness in the fruit and some influence from the élevage for my taste. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and a wide mineral sensation with hints of iron. It shows good soil and variety character. 6,354 bottles were filled in February 2016".
"Candied red fruit and some mineral character on the nose. Full to medium body and firm tannins. Ripe and flavorful on the finish. Simple wine perfect with some Spanish tapas. Drink now".
Color: cereza brillante.
