The Wine Advocate:

The 2017 Clos Santuy clearly transcends the character of the vintage, and the wine managed to get the balance and poise and didn't show any excess ripeness or heat; it comes through as balanced, powerful, yes, but also very elegant and perhaps more open and expressive than the more backward 2016 that I tasted next to it. It's a co-fermentation of Tempranillo with approximately 14% white Albillo grapes that are co-planted in the vineyard. It's perhaps closer to the style of 2015. 2017 was a shorter crop, and there was only enough wine to fill one 600-liter demi-muid, where the wine matured for 22 months until it was bottled into 798 bottles in September 2019.
