The Wine Advocate:

2017 was a warm and ripe year, but often those years are quite favorable for biological aging. The 2017 La Fleur feels like somewhere between Jerez and the Jura; the wine is not fortified but it achieved 15% alcohol through sun drying the grapes. The wine has a yellow amber color and a very spicy nose, intermixing notes of esparto grass with nuts and spices. This comes from the Forlong plot within Pago Balbaína Baja, a plot with tosca and lustrillo soils that was planted 15 years ago very close to the sea. This fermented in Sherry butts, where it developed a layer of flor yeasts and where it spent 48 months. 1,367 bottles were filled in July 2021.
