Emilio Moro Vendimia Seleccionada 2015

Each year they select their best plot in that given vintage to produce this pure Tempranillo, which in the 2015 Vendimia Seleccionada, the first vintage for this label, was sourced from the pago La Mira planted with vines ranging between 12 and 25 years of age at 900 meters altitude. It fermented with yeast they select and reproduce themselves at controlled temperature and matured in new and used 50/50 French and American oak barrels for 12 months. It showcases the house style of reds, good ripeness and concentration, generous oak and grainy tannins with moderate acidity. Having said that, it shows remarkable freshness for 2015, even though the fruit is quite ripe and there is a certain pruney quality to it, turning earthy and a little organic with time in the glass. 2,500 bottles produced.
