El Sueño Bobal Cepas Centenarias Caliza 2020

One of two wines they consider "grand crus" is the 2019 El Sueño, which carries the subtitle Bobal Cepas Centenarias Caliza, centenary Bobal on limestone (caliza) soils from their vineyard Las Brunas at 900 to 950 meters altitude. It fermented with 50% full clusters in used 500-liter oak barrels with indigenous yeasts. The wine matured in the same barrels for 12 months. It's not that different from La Bruna—dark, rich, round and powerful, full-bodied and with plenty of tannins, a tad more fluid. It needs powerful food. 3,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2020.
