L'avis des experts

Tim Atkin:

Dous Ferrados uses grapes from the same coastal vineyard as Gerardo Mendez's Adina bottling, but is fermented and curated in very old barrels. You barely notice the presence of oak here on a wine that combines aromas of fennel and almond with bottle-aged flavours of patisserie spice, beeswax, chamomile and lanolin. Outstanding stuff. 2023-30

The Wine Advocate:

The effect of the élevage in 500-liter oak barrels is a little more noticeable in the 2016 Dous Ferrados, even if they did less work with the lees than in 2017. It feels a little more open and developed, with nice aromas reminiscent of grass, flowers and citrus peel. The palate is round and integrated. This is ready now. 1,300 bottles were filled in August 2017.
