L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

"The entry-level 2016 Clos Lojén now has grapes from Villanueva de la Jara on boulder soils as well as from Iniesta with limestone soils, as they wanted to increase production. The oak casks are now ten years old and do not lend flavors or aromas to the wine, which come through very fruit-driven, with bright fruit and notes that made me think of carbonic maceration. The tannins are quite polished, with less extraction than the wines from the beginning. It fermented with full clusters in 4,000-liter oak vats and aged in 15,000-liter oak vats for seven months. This is produced from old-vine grapes, so the wine has the tannins, minerality and character these grapes have, which makes this a lot more serious than your average entry-level red. This is quite low in alcohol, 12.5% now. A serious, mineral but approachable Bobal. 45,000 bottles were filled in April 2017".
