Chivite Colección 125 Blanco Fermentado en Barrica 2014

"The elegant and Burgundian 2014 Colección 125 Blanco is a barrel-fermented Chardonnay, one of the best in its class. It felt very balanced and with good freshness, moderate ripeness and a lively palate. It's still very young, but already provides pleasure, even if it lacks some complexity that should be provided by some more time. This wine ages surprisingly well in bottle. For comparison's sake I also sampled a bottle of the 2009, which showed more developed aromas even if it felt like a riper year with marked balsamic notes and possibly a faster evolution than what this 2014 should have. 11,948 bottles were filled in June 2016".
