L'avis des experts

James Suckling:

Focused and fresh with crunchy dark and blue fruit, seashells and spicy herbs. Medium-bodied. Firm tannins and a lingering, chalky finish with some saltiness to it. Fine texture. Attractive already.

Decanter:

Ripe and cool blue fruits on the nose with an appealing salty minerality. Supple and lean, excellently textured though, straight and sharp with bite and tang to the fruits but carefully controlled leaving you wanting more. Great energy, bounce and freshness. Really enjoyable if super clean, lean and austere right now in the powdery sensation that's left on the tongue as well as the oyster shell minerality. Easy drinking with elegance and an appealing juicy kick on the finish. Tasted twice. Harvest 7 - 29 September. Ageing; 16 - 18 months; 30% new barrel, 30% old barrel, 20% cement. Jeb Dunnuck:

Coming from the Franc region on the Right Bank, the 2022 Château Puygueraud is a beauty as well as a stunning value in the making. Blue fruits, leafy herbs, violets, and a kiss of minerality all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a plush, layered texture and a great finish. It's going to sell for a song yet deliver the goods for at least 7-8 years.
