L'avis des experts

Jeb Dunnuck:

Made from 100% Merlot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Moulin du Cadet strides confidently out of the glass with bold notes of blackberry preserves, plum pudding and black raspberries, plus suggestions of charcoal, tapenade and wild mushrooms with a waft of bay leaves. The medium to full-bodied palate is laden with juicy black fruits, supported by plush tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing long and earthy.

James Suckling:

Sweet-berry, coffee and mushroom aromas follow through to a full body with chewy tannins and a juicy finish. Needs time to soften. Try after 2024.

The Wine Advocate:

Here we have a pretty modern take on St-Emilion with a layer of sweet black cherry and a fresh core underneath. It has a generosity to it that speaks to its 100% Merlot composition and a powerful depth to the fruit, with pâtisserie brioche notes through the finish. A yield of 45hl/ha, 80% new oak.

Decanter:

Rocking amounts of red and black currants, chalky minerality, violets, camphor, new leather, and violets emerge from the 2018 Château Moulin Du Cadet, a rich, medium to full-bodied, concentrated, beautifully balanced Saint-Emilion. With ripe tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a great finish, this is another remarkable wine from the Lefévère family that's well worth snatching up. The wine is 100% Merlot brought up in 80% new French oak. It's going to benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and will keep for 15+.

Bettane & Desseauve:

L'élevage est en train de dompter un tannin fougueux de belle amplitude. A revoir, juste avant la mise en bouteille.
