L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

Opening in the glass with aromas of cherries, strawberries and raspberries mingled with peonies and licorice, Ponsot's 2019 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is full-bodied, layered and velvety, with a broad attack that segues into a deep, concentrated mid-palate framed by ripe tannins and lively acids. This has turned out very well indeed.

Decanter:

According to winemaker, Alexandre Abel, the young vines in this domaine-owned parcel of Chapelle-Chambertin require a very precise organisation, so pickers will go through the vineyard four times to ensure ripeness. The work is paying off, for this is marvellous, with a superbly aromatic rose petal and red fruit nose, and a piercingly sweet character to the fruit on the palate. The wine is extraordinarily supple and elegant, but has the substance to continue to age for decades.
