Casa de Santar Vinha dos Amores Blanc de Noirs 2015

The 2015 Blanc de Noirs Vinha dos Amores is a sparkling Touriga Nacional coming in very dry and with 12.8% alcohol. It was disgorged at the end of January 2020 after 24 months on the lees (which date is not on the label, but this is a unique disgorgement). This is just the second vintage of this brand. It's lovely. Textured and balanced, gentle but persistent, it provides controlled flavors in a dry and serious finish. This looks like a brand that can be a routine success. It has a touch of distinction and complexity as well. It should hold well for several more years, at least, probably more. Obviously, there's no track record. - Mark Squires.
