L'avis des experts

The Wine Advocate:

There is an exceptional 2012 Viña Pedrosa Gran Reserva 2012 – 40 Aniversario dressed with a painting from artist Cristóbal Gabarrón to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the winery. The 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grapes were selected from head-pruned vines that are at least 60 years old, and it fermented with their own strain of yeasts and matured in French and American oak barrels for 24 months. it showcases the evolution of their most classical wines that age gracefully into mellow aromas of meat, forest floor, sweet spices and earth. The palate is powerful yet polished, with rich and persistent flavors and a sleek, elegant, dry finish. It should continue aging nicely in bottle in a plateau. 1,500 numbered bottles were filled in January 2015.

James Suckling:

A complex and still very fresh Ribera Gran Reserva. This has a very fresh and assertive core of ripe and deep-set fruit in the blood-plum and blackberry zone. Long, full tannins drive smooth and strong. Rich dark fruit holds long and spicy. Drink or hold.
