The Wine Advocate:

"The wine that could be the most representative of the winery, half of their total production, is the 2014 Viña Pedrosa Crianza. This wine is pure Tempranillo cropped from a vintage that the Pérez Pascuas family considers perfectly ripe but with freshness, complexity and elegance. The wine matured in oak barrels for 18 months. They give importance to vine age, and insist on the traditional head-pruned, dry-farmed vineyards, and for this they use slightly older vines and the élevage mixes newer and older barrels. They tend to replace one-third of barrels every year and use approximately 50/50 French and American oak. This has an elegant texture with very fine tannins and very good freshness. This is as classical as it gets in Ribera del Duero, and very representative of the house style, with very clean oak and balance to develop for a very long time. A benchmark for Crianza wines from Ribera del Duero. 200,000 bottles produced."
