The Wine Advocate:

Last but not least and produced from one of the best vintages of recent times. the 2008 Ucedo is really a barrel selection of their best Mencía from a cool vintage, fermented in inox and aged in barrel for 12 months. It is very dark-colored with an aromatic nose with hedonistic notes of dark chocolate, black olives and sweet spices that is quite showy and develops a smoky bacon character that made me think of the Northern Rhône. It feels really lively for 2008, one of the most balanced vintages in Bierzo. It has fruit and plenty of tannins and it should be consumed with powerful food or leave it to mellow down in bottle. It was bottled in February 2010 into 4,928 bottles.
